Master of Science in Nursing with a Nursing Administration Concentration

Take your career to the next level with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a concentration in Nursing Administration from Lincoln Memorial University! Our Nursing Administration concentration focuses primarily on the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Nursing Administration Practice and the American Organization of Nurse Executive competencies through a virtual environment.

Above all else, our foundational belief is the importance of providing a service to humanity, and few professions embody this belief like nursing. As a nurse, you will have the opportunity to help people in need attain and regain wellness, and to work with individuals, families, and community groups, helping them to adopt changes in their needs, their roles and their relationships, brought on by changes in health.

Through LMU's fully online concentration, you'll receive the opportunity to prepare for a rich career in nursing administration through core courses covering finance, budgeting, marketing and analytics for healthcare strategy. During your time in our nursing administration program, you will acquire critical leadership, communication, health policy and cultural competency skills to ensure that you are well-equipped in pursuing complex healthcare administrative positions in your local community, as well on a national or even global scale.

LMU Caylor School of Nursing programs are fully accredited. While you will be held to high moral and ethical standards, we will also ensure that you receive the training and education needed to become a qualified nursing professional, capable of succeeding in the 21st century healthcare environment.

Pursuing our 17-month post-baccalaureate Nursing Administration concentration will require you to participate in 36 semester hours of graduate course work including a minimum of 360 clinical hours. If you are pursuing our 26-month post-associate Nursing Administration program, you will be required to participate in 65 semester hours. However, you will have the option to transfer up to six credit hours toward your degree requirement. During your final semester, you will complete a comprehensive exam as well as a directed scholarly project.

LMU Caylor School of Nursing graduates have achieved consistently high pass rates on their certification examinations. By completing the Nursing Administration concentration, you will have earned the eligibility requirements needed for the certification exam offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), provided that you have met the practice requirements for the exam.

Most of the clinical placements for the program will be within commuting distance of your attending site. If you live further away from the attending site and can help faculty identify a willing and capable preceptor in your home community, we may be able to find you a clinical placement in that home area. To help meet your educational needs, your clinical placement may be located in private places, community health centers, public health centers and other settings. Regardless of the unique nature of your situation, our faculty will work closely with the clinical preceptors to assist you in making the most of your practical experiences.

While there is a lot to learn, you won't be taking on this challenge alone. During your time in the program, not only will you have the choice to enroll as either a full- or part-time student, but you will be guided and mentored by the highly experienced, caring faculty working in our MSN Nursing Administration program.

At the end of this tunnel, there is a very bright light waiting for you. Graduates from LMU's MSN program are highly sought after and are eligible to work in almost any setting and to fill crucial leadership roles in the healthcare field.
